Join Blythe Brewery at The Junction

Join Blythe Brewery at The Junction
Grand Opening Wednesday 7th November from 4pm

For the past few months Blythe Brewery (based in Hamstall Ridware) owners Alex & Kevin have been working especially hard…they were converting a shop in Stretton (just north of Burton-on-Trent} into a new pub! The Junction will stock real ale produced by Blythe Brewery as well as locally produced Cider (brewed in Yoxall). Vodka and Gin will also be specialities of the house and of course wines, soft drinks and even tea & coffee will be available!

The opening hours are
Sunday 1pm to 10pm
Monday Closed
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday 4pm to 11pm
Thursday 4pm to 11pm
Friday Noon to 11pm
Saturday Noon to 11pm

The official opening will take place on 7pm Wednesday 7th November with members of Tamworth CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) team there to formally present the Certificate for the LocAle Beer Award from the Tamworth Beer Festival 2018. All welcome, doors open at 4pm!

The decor and style of The Junction has been well thought out by Alex & Kevin and features contemporary design based on a theatrical theme, one of the highlights being the theatre style armchairs which have been ingeniously adapted to be movable to suit different group sizes. The lighting is based on stage lights and the gigantic mirror will give the premises a feeling of great depth. The bar area has a reclaimed look about it and has been especially built in reclaimed steel to a more friendly height, giving comfort when sitting on the bar stools or when propping up the bar!

Grand designs from a forward looking team at Blythe Brewery.

The artwork has been provided by David Walker, a PhotoArtist from Yoxall, and an unofficial member of the Blythe team. The designs of the pieces were chosen to enhance the ambiance of the premises.

Everything is ready to welcome you to The Junction and to tempt you with the excellent range of real ales and beers from Blythe Brewery. You will not be disappointed!

Situated on the crossroads (The Junction!) of Hillfield Lane, Bridge Street, Church Road and Main Street in Stretton. Looking for a landmark? St Mary’s Church is opposite! The Postcode is DE13 0DZ

No Carbon Dioxide problems at Blythe

National newspapers are reporting that the brewing industry could be severely effected by a European wide shortage of carbon dioxide (CO2).

Blythe Brewery is eager to point out that their range of beers and ales are not dependent on added carbon dioxide, after all the unnecessary introduction of CO2 is an essential part of the Real Ale story.

Supplies from Blythe will not therefore be effected by the shortage. If the shortage of CO2 does lead to problems for some breweries Blythe has the capability of significantly increasing output without detriment to the quality and integrity of their products.  If you are running short of stocks or want to ensure you have supplies please contact Kevin Dudley on email or by phone 01889 504461

Shakespeare In The Park: Bagot’s Bitter on draught!

Measure For Measure is this year’s production the Shakespeare In The Park company and the will take full advantage of the beautiful Italian Gardens at Maple Hayes School to stage an al fresco production of ‘Measure for Measure’ Shakespeare’s darkest comedy.  A razor sharp satire exposing hypocritical politicians, sexual exploitation and the abuse of power. Its message is as relevant today as it has ever been.

Seating is on straw bales to complement the setting.  There is a bar on site and picnics before the performance are welcome. Our Bagot’s Bitter will be available for all to enjoy!

Blythe Beers now available at many more pubs!

For the first time the full range of Blythe Beers is available at an increased number of pubs including “tied” outlets previously unable to order our fine range of beers.  This is facilitated by the Beerflex system that Blythe joined earlier this year.  The system is operated by SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) and enables beer to be available at outlets such as Punch Taverns, Enterprise, Admiral and Greene King owned pubs and certain other registered outlets, subject to some local individual outlet conditions.

As a customer if you can convince your local landlord to register for the scheme then the process can be set in motion.  Many landlords are unaware of the availability, or indeed of the scheme, so if you speak to them it may well prove beneficial for you both!

Our pale beers are receiving great reviews at the moment so look out for Ridware Pale, Staffie, Gold Rush, Sublime and Summer Breeze.
